We have several Hundred Sierra Wireless Modems in management. These modems automatically go into sleep mode after 45 seconds to save Data Costs. We wake them up with a ping probe, and then poll the devices.
I was wondering if there is a feature that we could put in to enable a wakeup (ping) packet that is not calculated into the response time statistic. Currently we poll every 30 seconds, but would like to backoff to 120 seconds to again save wireless data costs. I think this feature would be pretty easy to put into production, and have great benefit to my organization, and others as mobility becomes more prevalent (Cisco Calls it "Internet of Everything")
Thanks
Scott
