I am having an issue modifying the Polling Frequency for my AppInsight SQL applications. My guess is that it is not a problem with AppInsight SQL, but more a problem with the number of nodes that are using this template.
I have 1,932 AppInsight for SQL assigned application monitors. Attempting to edit one of these to a polling frequency that differs from the template itself (attempting to collect statistics more often for certain nodes) fails to save the changes. I have tried using the 'Submit' button, and the 'Save and Continue' button, neither one does anything. You can see the screen 'grey out' like it is going to save, but nothing alters, and eventually the screen just refreshes.
Attempting to change other polling frequencies for less utilized application monitors allows me to adjust the polling frequency without issue.
Again, this is for single nodes, not the template itself. Adjusting the template itself still works just fine. Unfortunately adjusting the template does not meet my needs though.
In 6.0.2 of SAM I did not have this same issue/limitation, I was able to adjust my AppInsight for SQL assigned application monitor polling frequencies for certain nodes without hesitation.
In the interim while a fix is worked on, does anyone know how I may adjust the polling frequency outside of the web ui? Since you can only edit the frequency of 1 node at a time (unless you mass edit the template) it has been a pretty slow moving project for us to get the values exactly where we want them for the various nodes in our environment. An additional suggestion would be to allow multiple polling frequency edits
