We're pleased to announce the availability of NPM v12 Beta2. For those of you that missed the first beta, check out some of the new exciting feature in my previous post:
In addition to refinement on previous features, Beta2 exposes some huge new functionality. Let's check it out:
Web Based Alerting
As some of you may have noticed in previous betas, we've been hard at work on migrating alerting functionality to the web, and adding great enhancements in the process. In v12 Beta2, you can check out an end-to-end alerting flow.
Some highlights:
New Condition Builder
Nest conditions, configure sliding windows, specific objects, etc. Notice the new "Has Changed" conditions:
New Active Alerts Page
Provides new alert management and filtering capability. Directly link to alert definitions
Wireless Heatmaps
Unshackle yourself from legacy proprietary vendor tools to overlay signal strength information and find gaps in coverage. Maps can be created in Network Atlas and displayed in the web console. Currently supports Cisco WLCs, and we have big plans for this feature.
Automatic Geolocation on Worldwide Maps
Based on SNMP Location field, the Worldwide Maps resource will automatically place and aggregate nodes. We included new "zoom-level" aggregation logic as well.
Hardware Health Improvements
In addition to the hardware health improvements introduced in Beta1, we have the ability to select Cisco Hardware Health MIB on a per-node basis. No more global selection required.
Wireless Vendor Support
v12 Beta2 also includes support for Aerohive, Aruba Instant AP, and Juniper/Trapeze. Check out the Manage Pollers page to apply them.
Conclusion
v11 isn't even out the door yet and v12.0 looking to be a huge release, so stay tuned for more exciting features.
