We have issues polling nodes over the the primary route where the ICMP polling traffic is dropped in times of congestion or an outage. There is a secondary path to all of these nodes where we can access them on other IP addresses. A useful feature to have would be an option to configure a secondary polling address for these nodes which would only be used when NPM detects that the primary polling address stops responding so we could still see that the node was up and continue recording stats when there is an issue polling it over the primary path. It would be useful to have this event trigger an alert so i am aware that the primary path is down. I can poll over 2 paths at the moment but i have to create 2 separate nodes in NPM for a single device which is not practical as the node licence usage would double. Currently the availability stats on these nodes doesn't reflect the actual up time because we can only poll each node over a single path and we also get gaps in the graphs when NPM was unable to reach the node during congestion or a network outage.
