We are using network sonar discovery function primarily to see what changed in our network. That's where it started to become pretty useless.
Let's say we want to see what changed daily (Add/remove interface, volumes etc.) in our servers only. We have to add the server IP address list manually to the specific nodes section under selection method. And it must be updated every time we add or remove a server. We need a better solution which supports dynamic selection like we can do in report writer as shown below.
Also the result of the discovery process should support filtering to be able to select a specific item (interface name, volume name etc.). Currently we are selecting each item one by one manually for every server we added or updated.
For example; This server is a virtual one. Something has changed in the virtual side and then these items needs to be checked and ignored every time. And it is happening a lot. I don't know why. Let's say we are doing this process for 20 virtual server every day.
