One thing I liked about Ciscoworks was the User Tracking Utility that would allow you to search for a user via their username, IP address or MAC address. Wildcards were assumed when searching via Username, which I would make the default here too.
At one point, when they actually had a small client to do this, they had what they called the "search band" which showed up as a search band on your taskbar. This would be awesome, but just getting a better search utility for users would be nice.
